An arrest has been made after a double homicide incident in Richland County (Illinois).
The Illinois State Police report that at around 3:15 p.m. CDT on Tuesday, July 7th, authorities with the Olney Police Department and Richland County Sheriff's Department were dispatched to two homes in the 400 block of East Monroe Street in Olney. They discovered two deceased individuals in each of the locations. They were identified as 52-year-old John D. Jones, Jr. and 73-year-old Deborah Jones, both of Olney.
Later that evening at approximately 11:30 p.m. CDT, 25-year-old Dylan Jones of Olney was taken into custody and booked into the Richland County Jail at Olney on two preliminary charges of First-Degree Murder. He was being held on the charges pending a detention hearing.
John Jones was the father and Deborah Jones the grandmother of the suspect Dylan Jones. No other information is being released as the investigation into the deaths continues.
