The Vincennes University (VU) Board of Trustees met in Vincennes this week and took action on a new two-year fiscal budget.
University officials say that the spending plan includes a freeze on student tuition and fees during the two years. The freeze was implemented based on projections of steady enrollment at the school over the period. It also includes increases in teacher merit pay and health insurance. There will also be a 3% increase in student housing for the 2025-26 and 2026-27 school terms.
The approval was made upon recommendation of the Budget and Finance Committee and after VU, along with other state supported higher education institutions had their state funding cut 5% by the Braun administration.
