A new Public Information Officer (PIO) has been assigned to the Indiana State Police (ISP) Evansville District in southwestern Indiana.
It was announced this week that Sergeant Seth Rainey will assume the position and be the primary media spokesman. He is being reassigned from the ISP Employment Services and Recruiting Division.
Rainey is a native of Mount Vernon, Indiana and graduated from Ball State University in Muncie. He joined the ISP in 2008 and served in northwestern Indiana before being transferred to Evansville in 2010. He has handled a number of duties in patrol, K-9 operations and tactical intervention. Since 2022, Rainey has worked in recruiting and community outreach across the state.
He takes over for former longtime PIO Sgt. Todd Ringle, who retired this year.
