MPS Egg Farms of North Manchester recognized for Environmental Excellence

A North Manchester egg farm was aong eight Indiana organizations were recognized Thursday as recipients of the 2026 Governor’s Award for Environmental Excellence.

Winners were announced at the 29th Annual Indiana Partners for Sustainability’s Annual Conference and Tradeshow.

The Governor's Awards for Environmental Excellence are Indiana’s most prestigious environmental recognition awards. They are reserved for the most innovative, sustainable, and exemplary programs or projects that positively impact Indiana’s environment and demonstrate measurable environmental, economic, and social benefits.

“I congratulate these organizations that made environmental stewardship a focal point of their operations,” said Governor Mike Braun. “This year’s winners represent some of the most innovative, forward thinking work happening today, improving quality of life for communities across our state.”

Governor Braun also issued a proclamation declaring September 21-27, 2026 as Pollution Prevention Week in the State of Indiana. IDEM Chief of Staff Hilary Alderete and Energy and Natural Resources Chief of Staff Parvonay Stover presented the awards on the Governor’s behalf. 

Recipients of the 2026 Governor’s Awards for Environmental Excellence were honored at the Indiana Partners for Sustainability’s Annual Conference and Tradeshow, held at the Marriott Indianapolis North (Keystone at the Crossing) on Thursday.

The 2026 Governor's Awards for Environmental Excellence categories and recipients include:

MPS Egg Farms of North Manchester was recognized with an award for Energy Efficiency and Renewable Resources. Their project has introduced the nation’s first carbon-neutral eggs to Kroger’s Simple Truth brand, now available in stores across Indiana. Made possible through a collaboration between Kipster Netherlands, MPS Egg Farms, and Kroger, the initiative reflects a shared commitment to sustainable food production. The Kipster facility features three state-of-the-art poultry barns designed to set new standards for animal welfare and environmental stewardship.
