The annual Purdue Day of Giving event is almost here. On April 30th, the Marshall County Extension Office will participate in this single-day fundraising event to support the Potawatomi Wildlife Park Interactive Forestry & Pollinator Trail located at 16998 State Road 331, Tippecanoe, IN, United States. Recently, the Marshall County Purdue Extension partnered with Potawatomi Wildlife Park to submit the project for the Arrow Head Grant, which was approved for $4000! To help secure the additional funds needed for the project, Purdue Extension aims to raise an extra $1000 through the Purdue Day of Giving event. Community members can donate directly to Marshall County through this link https://tinyurl.com/25DoGMarshallCo. Every $10 donation will also put Marshall County Extension in the running for additional funds, making several smaller donations more impactful than a single large donation! There will be donation challenges, and you can follow the leaderboard here! https://dayofgiving.purdue.edu/leaderboards .
Help Purdue Extension and Potawatomi Wildlife Park come together to create an engaging, hands-on learning experience! This project aims to inspire youth to explore forest management, understand the importance of pollinator plants, and engage with the 4-H Youth Forestry, Beekeeping, Entomology, or Soil and Water Science program. Additionally, the trail will serve as an accessible educational resource for schools, families, and nature enthusiasts, fostering a deeper connection to the natural world. This trail will feature five designated stopping points, each highlighting a planted tree alongside an informational display. These displays will provide details on the tree's characteristics, ecological significance, fun facts, and information on a featured pollinator plant and its role in supporting pollinators.
