A 56-year-old Logansport woman is facing a felony drunk driving charge after her vehicle broke down west of Bourbon and police discovered her blood alcohol content was nearly four times the legal limit.
According to a news release from Deputy Nicholas Laffoon of the Marshall County Sheriff's Department, officers were dispatched to the 6,000 block of 12B Road on Saturday, April 25th. The initial 911 call reported that a vehicle had become disabled due to a mechanical failure and that the driver was outside the vehicle, acting intoxicated.
Arriving on the scene, Officer Laffoon located the driver, identified as Jamie L. Warren, 56, of Logansport, along with her disabled vehicle. During the on-scene investigation, officers established probable cause that Warren had been operating the vehicle while under the influence.
Warren was detained and transported to Saint Joseph Medical Center in Plymouth for medical evaluation and certified chemical testing. Test results later revealed that her blood alcohol content (BAC) was nearly four times the state's legal limit of .08 percent.
Following her medical clearance, Warren was transported to the Marshall County Jail. She was booked on a Level 6 felony charge of Operating While Intoxicated with a Prior Conviction. She is currently being held on a $1,500 bond.
