A Logansport man received a 98-year prison sentence this week after being convicted in March of child molestation and child exploitation.
According to a press release by the Cass County Prosecutor's Office, Justin Bault, 42, of Logansport, was found guilty of the charges by a jury trial on March 20.
The charges stemmed from a 2022 investigation by Indiana State Police. Two people came forward to authorities about Bault molesting them when they had been younger than 14. The victims told ISP detectives that Bault had even taken photos during some of the acts.
Cass County Superior Court Judge Lisa Swaim handed Bault 45 years in prison for each of the two child molesting charges he was convicted of and eight years for the child exploitation charge.
According to court documents, Bault also had additional pending criminal cases that involving sexual misconduct with a minor, child seduction and unlawful carrying of a handgun. The pending cases are set for a status hearing on May 8 at 1 p.m. in Cass County Superior Court II.
