The Lawrence Public Library has a tentative new spending plan for 2026.
The Board of Trustees, upon the recommendations of its Personnel and Finance Committees, approved the FY2026 operating budget of $312,000 Tuesday. It contains the major expenses of $162,000 for salaries, $57,000 for equipment upgrades and $32,000 for employee benefits.
Board chairman John White told GIANT-FM News that the library located at 814 12th Street in downtown Lawrenceville is in good financial shape and praised Library Director/Head Librarian Diane Brumley and her staff for their work.
The new tentative budget will now be advertised and placed on public display at the library for 30 days before being formally adopted in ordinance form on Tuesday, September 16th. A required public hearing will be held at 6:45 p.m. that evening at the library.
