Lawrenceville Police Chief Jim White has now released his departmental report for the month of May.
There were 350 requests for an officer during the month. They handled 3 mental health calls and 5 cases of domestic violence. There were 14 drug investigations, 8 assault and battery investigations, 8 theft investigations, 3 burglaries and 2 cases of vandalism undertaken in May.
Officers made 16 felony and 16 misdemeanor arrests in May along with 1 juvenile arrest. They also issued 14 ordinance violations and 16 traffic tickets.
There were 10 traffic accidents that occurred during the month. 9 of them involved property damage and the other was a case of hit-and-run.
Lawrenceville officers lent their assistance to the Lawrence County Sheriff's Department (LCSD) and Illinois State Police (ISP) 5 times in May and assisted emergency fire and medical services 4 times and the general public 9 times.
