On Saturday, April 6, at approximately 5:30 in the evening Marshall County Sheriff's Department deputies responded to an accident where witnesses advised a vehicle hit a utility pole and one subject was seen leaving the scene on foot.
While responding to the accident, Deputy Bennett located a male subject walking. During the deputy’s investigation, the male subject was suspected of providing false identifying information that hindered law enforcement’s investigation. The subject was eventually identified as 32-year-old Skyler Daniels of Thumper Trail in LaPaz.
Skyler Daniels had active warrants through Marshall County and Fulton County. He was transported to the Marshall County Jail and booked in for false informing and the active warrants. Daniels was held without bond for his warrants and was issued a bond of $500 for his new charge of false informing charge.
Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is merely an allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
