On Wednesday, February 1st, (2023) around 3:40 in the afternoon Plymouth Police were dispatched to the area of Jefferson Street and 3rd Street for a domestic dispute in a vehicle.
Officers were then advised the two people were fighting in a truck in front of Low Bob's Discount Tobacco at 1212 West Jefferson Street.
When officers arrived, they located 42-year-old James Messer of Knox. Through an investigation by Officer Ayala, Messer was found to be in possession of several narcotics. He was transported to the Marshall County Jail and booked in for Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Possession of Paraphernalia. He was held on a $1,500 cash bond.
Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is merely an allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
