K9 Castor with the Plymouth PD assisted in arrest of South Bend woman

A week ago, Plymouth’s K-9 Castor assisted in the arrest of a South Bend woman.

At about 8:30 Wednesday night, September 25^th a traffic stop was conducted at the Speedway Gas Station. During the investigation, Officer Vinson found that the driver, Amber Seay had a driver's license status of Suspended-Prior.

During the traffic stop, K-9 Castor was deployed around the vehicle for a free air sniff and alerted to the odor of narcotics. A vehicle search was conducted, and a small amount of marijuana was found. Amber Seay of South Bend was transported to the Marshall County Jail and booked for driving while suspended with a prior.

Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is a mere allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
