Jessica O'Blenis to run on Democrat ticket for County Council District 3

Jessica O’Blenis, a lifelong Marshall County resident and small business owner, is running for Marshall County Council, District 3, on the Democratic ticket.

Born and raised in Marshall County, O’Blenis comes from a multi-generation local family whose roots in the area span more than a century, including farmland her family donated to the City of Plymouth. She is an Indiana University graduate and has built her career locally, combining entrepreneurship, nonprofit leadership, and hands-on community service.

Jess is the owner of Not Today Martha Cleaning & Organizing Services, a locally based small business that employs area residents and serves homes and businesses throughout Marshall County. Through her work, she has gained firsthand experience managing budgets, navigating rising costs, and making practical decisions that directly affect families and workers.

She is also the founder of Martha’s Angels Charity Cleaning Service, a nonprofit organization that provides free and sponsored cleaning services to seniors, individuals facing medical challenges, and families experiencing crisis. In addition to her nonprofit work, Jess has volunteered with Team Rubicon and has donated time, resources, and financial support to local food banks, churches, and households in need across the community.

Jess’s commitment to service extends beyond her professional life. She believes county government should operate with transparency, fiscal responsibility, and a clear focus on essential services such as infrastructure, emergency response, and long-term financial planning.

While running as a Democrat, Jess emphasizes that County Council work is about managing budgets and services responsibly, not national political divisions. She believes effective local government requires collaboration, careful stewardship of taxpayer dollars, and respect for the people who live and work in the county.

Jess lives in Marshall County with her wife, Amy, and their family. She continues to invest her time, work, and resources into the same community she is seeking to serve on the Marshall County Council.
