The call of a domestic disturbance on Saturday, May 18th sent Plymouth Police Officers to 1804 West Jefferson Street.
At 1 a.m. officers were dispatched for an intoxicated male subject who was acting aggressively and threatening self-harm with a knife.
A city officer located 21-year-old Austin Reed of the West Jefferson Street address and detained him. Reed was intoxicated and acting belligerently. A knife was located in his pants pocket.
Austin Reed was placed under arrest and transported to the Marshall County Jail where he was booked on charges of public intoxication by alcohol and disorderly conduct. Reed was released at 1:11 a.m. Monday with no judicial review.
Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is a mere allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
