ICAC looks to grow in search for online predators

Indiana law enforcement agencies are reporting significant victories in the ongoing battle against online child predators and abuse, according to a recent update shared by State Representative Jack Jordan (R-Bremen).

Over the past year, the Indiana State Police’s Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force has made a substantial impact across the state.

“Over the past year, the work of Indiana State Police’s Indiana Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force resulted in the arrest of 499 individuals for crimes against children and the rescue of 126 children from abuse,” Rep. Jordan stated, highlighting the task force's critical mission.

To better protect Hoosier youth, the ICAC Task Force has recently expanded its operational capacity. In the last year alone, the task force hired 50 new law enforcement officers dedicated to investigating online child exploitation and fostering more effective collaboration among agencies statewide.

Public vigilance is also playing a crucial role in these enforcement efforts. In 2025, authorities received nearly 30,000 cybertips—a 38% increase compared to 2024. That upward trend is continuing into 2026, with the task force already receiving 2,951 tips this year, marking a 29% increase compared to January of last year.  Officials note that these reports, submitted through both local and national systems, are vital in helping law enforcement put predators behind bars.

The ICAC Task Force operates as a collaborative partnership between the Indiana State Police and local law enforcement agencies. Beyond investigations and arrests, the task force provides essential education and resources for parents, offering guidance on safe social media use, setting up parental controls, and how to properly report suspected abuse.

“I am grateful to Indiana's law enforcement community for helping to keep Hoosier kids safe and cracking down on online predators,” Jordan concluded.
