Plymouth Police responded to Indiana Avenue for a woman asking for assistance late on Tuesday, June 11th.
The 911 call came into the Marshall County Central Dispatch Center at 11:53 p.m. and officers responded to 404 Indiana Avenue where the unnamed female told police that her husband had choked her in front of their children and had physically tried to prevent her from calling for help.
The officer’s report stated that the female had visible injuries and medics were requested to the scene. The female was transported to the Plymouth Hospital for treatment.
The husband is 33-year-old Monuma Cineas. He was taken into custody and transported to the Marshall County Jail and booked on charges of strangulation, domestic battery in the presence of a child, and interference with the reporting of a crime. He was held on a $1,500 cash bond.
Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is a mere allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
