Rep. Jordan: 'Today, on Veterans Day, we take the opportunity to honor the bravery, courage and sacrifices of the men and women who have served in the United States Armed Forces.'
"I want to express my gratitude to all veterans for their service in protecting this great state and country," State Rep. Jack Jordan (R-Bremen) shared today on Veterans Day.
He reminds veterans and those who know a veteran that Indiana has resources and services available to help. The Indiana Department of Veterans Affairs provides benefit information and support for former servicemembers and their families. Additionally, Indiana's Next Level Veterans initiative offers career training and connects Hoosiers with job opportunities across the state.
The Military Family Relief Fund offers support to veterans facing challenges with essential expenses like housing, utilities and food. Through the Operation Holiday Program, eligible veterans can receive $200 for holiday meals, plus an additional $300 per dependent child this holiday season.
Veterans in crisis are encouraged to call 988, then press 1 for immediate, confidential assistance, or text 838255 or chat online with a responder who is ready to help.
Jordan says Hoosier veterans and their families can always contact his office by visiting in.gov/h17 or calling 317-232-9600 for help navigating state resources.
