The Lawrence County Historical Society (LCHS) will present their newest exhibition-Ladies of Lawrence: A Century of Fashion later in October.
It is set to open on Oct. 18 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the History Center located on the square in downtown Lawrenceville. A ribbon-cutting ceremony by the Lawrence County Chamber will be held to kick off the display.
The public is invited to attend. There is no admission fee, but a free will donation to purchase archival boxes for the fragile garments would be appreciated.
The exhibit will showcase 30 dresses from the 1850s through the 1950s as well as hats, accessories and lingerie worn by the local women during the period. A special room featuring vintage lingerie and other valuable clothing will also be on display for those who attend.
