Hancock Health formally dedicated the Green Family Foundation Behavioral Health Center on February 5, marking a significant milestone in the expansion and integration of behavioral health services for Hancock County.

The public dedication, open house, and ribbon cutting welcomed community leaders, healthcare partners, first responders, and residents to celebrate the newly remodeled facility, which brings multiple behavioral health programs together under one roof for the first time at Hancock Health. Previously housed in several locations, Hancock Behavioral Health Services is now centralized to provide easier access, coordinated care, and a comprehensive approach to supporting mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being.

The center integrates Hancock Counseling & Psychiatric Services, the Hancock Health Connection Center, and the Mobile Response Team (MRT). This model allows for warm handoffs between services, improved navigation of care, and expanded access to resources including counseling, crisis intervention, substance misuse services, peer recovery, justice navigation, support groups, and educational programming. Hancock Health Spiritual Care, also operates under Behavioral Health, and their offices will remain in the hospital.

“This center represents our commitment to treating mental health with the same importance as physical health,” said Steve Long, CEO of Hancock Health. “By bringing these services together, we are creating a true hub of support for individuals and families—focused on prevention, early intervention, and whole-person care.”

The project was made possible through the Hancock Health Foundation’s $4.5 million Mental Health Campaign & Substance Use Treatment Campaign, with significant support from the Green Family Foundation, which received naming rights for the center. A new donor wall within the facility recognizes individuals and businesses who generously contributed to the campaign, which made it possible for Hancock Health to establish these services and sustain them for future generations.

In addition to expanding access to services, the new space allows Hancock Health to host large-scale professional trainings and free public workshops. The center will serve as a community hub for education and prevention efforts, with workshops and training opportunities planned throughout 2026.
