As students across Indiana return to campus for the new academic year, Governor Mike Braun’s historic statewide tuition freeze is making college more affordable at all 15 of Indiana’s public colleges and universities, including main and regional campuses.
At Gov. Braun’s request, Indiana’s public higher education institutions froze tuition and mandatory fees for in‑state undergraduate students for the 2025-26 academic year, and they will continue this freeze through the 2026-27 year.
“Hoosier students are returning to campus with tuition frozen at every public college and university in Indiana for the second year. Indiana’s public institutions answered my call to find efficiencies and put students and their families first. In Indiana, your higher education dollar stretches further.” — Governor Mike Braun
The Braun Tuition Freeze
Gov. Braun called on Indiana’s public colleges and universities to find efficiencies, eliminate redundancies, and streamline services without compromising the quality of the education they provide.
All 15 institutions responded by committing to a 0% increase in tuition and mandatory fees for in-state undergraduate students for two consecutive academic years. The Indiana Commission for Higher Education unanimously endorsed the Governor’s recommendation.
This marks the first time in Indiana history that every public higher education institution in the state has simultaneously held tuition and mandatory fees flat for two consecutive years.
The statewide tuition freeze applies at all 15 of Indiana’s public colleges and universities, including main and regional campuses:
