Marshall County Emergency Management Agency Director Jack Garner said in the release, “The chance for significant ice accumulation on Wednesday evening has increased to a tenth of an inch.
Freezing rain will begin late afternoon on Wednesday or early evening and continue through the night. This could cause hazardous travel conditions for late Wednesday night and Thursday morning commutes.
The entire section of northern Indiana along U.S. 30 is in the freezing rain forecast area and the National Weather Service confidence level is medium. Uncertainties remain regarding the location of the greatest icing and how much precipitation will fall.
Roads, especially bridges and overpasses, will likely become slick and hazardous. Drivers should plan on slippery road conditions on Wednesday night and Thursday morning.
