After a highly successful First Friday in May, event organizers are hoping that a gorgeous forecast combined with plenty of entertainment will, again, draw residents and visitors to downtown Greencastle Friday.
Thousands braved construction woes last month to attend and Main Street Greencastle executive director Russell Harvey said the event was "great." That is leaving him to looking forward to Friday's festivities.
"I am really looking forward to this one in June," Harvey told The Putnam County Post.
The event features plenty of musical acts, beginning with The American West on the courthouse stage. In addition, Fancy Sauce will be on the Moore's stage, Big Henry on the Lost Hollow stage and a live DJ will perform at The Whisk block party.
"There are about six food vendors, many more craft, retail, promotional vendors, games and entertainment," Harvey said.
Castlemakers will help kids make mini catapults, while the Arts Council will feature a craft station and the Putnam County Gaming Initiative will also have games and fun.
"First Friday in Greencastle is one of the best free community events in the midwest, so folks aren't going to want to miss this. Also, don't forget to check out all of the awesome businesses outside the First Friday footprint," Harvey said.
Crown Equipment serves as the season sponsor and Flora Brothers Painting is the June sponsor.
