Two incidents of fire were reported Thursday in Knox County, Indiana.
Firefighters from Knox and two other counties were mobilized around 8 p.m. ET to a blaze at the Wagler Custom Homes warehouse on East College Street in Sandborn. They arrived to fine the structure fully involved with heavy smoke that could be seen for miles.
Firefighters were able to save part of the building. There were no injuries from the fire, but several firemen did suffer from heat exhaustion and were treated at the scene. No firm damage estimate was immediately released, and a cause remains under investigation.
Earlier in the day, Vincennes firemen were sent to the Ponderosa restaurant on Hart Street. Fire broke out in the kitchen and caused about $50,000 in smoke damage to that area. No injuries were reported.
The Indiana State Fire Marshal's Office has been called in to assist local fire officials in the investigation of a cause. The restaurant was closed Friday but was scheduled to reopen Saturday.
