Marshall County Police investigated a single-vehicle rollover accident on Friday, July 5th that landed a South Bend man in the Marshal County Jail.
At approximately 11:57 pm, the Marshall County Central Dispatch Center broadcasted a report of a single-vehicle rollover accident with unknown injuries on Plymouth Laporte Trail south of Sage Road and Marshall County deputies responded.
During the crash investigation, the driver and sole occupant of the vehicle,38-year-old Timothy E Ferrell showed signs of alcohol intoxication. Ferrell was transported to the Marshall County Jail and booked in for operating a vehicle while intoxicated and operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated endangering. He was held on a $1,500 cash bond.
Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is merely an allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
