Plymouth Police are investigating a drive-by shooting that happened early Wednesday morning on the city’s northwest side.
At about 1:45 in the morning on July 31st city officers responded to Beerenbrook and Jackson Streets for the report of shots fired. Officers determined that the occupied home was shot multiple times.
The suspect vehicle was seen in the area and a vehicle pursuit proceeded. The suspect vehicle was stopped at Jackson and Michigan Street and police identified the driver as 18-year-old Arionna Rubio, of Niles, Michigan. A male juvenile passenger was also taken into custody.
Rubio was lodged at the Marshall County Jail for multiple felony criminal charges including intimidation with a deadly weapon, criminal recklessness, dangerous control of a firearm, assisting a criminal, resisting law enforcement, theft of a motor vehicle, and misdemeanor reckless driving.
Arionna Fellen Rubio from the 900 block of Cherry Street in Niles is currently being held in the Marshall County Jail on a $20,000 cash bond.
Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is a mere allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
