Couple takes plea deals in 2025 Putnam County death case

A pair of female Putnam County residents have struck plea deals in connection to their involvement in the death of a Greencastle man last summer.

According to court documents, Stacey L. Northington, 36, and Leanna M. Boles, 34, have reached deals for their involvement in the death of Bobby McIntosh, 38, Greencastle, last July.

Northington was the driver of a vehicle and Boles a passenger when they picked up McIntosh from the Greencastle McDonald's. Sometime during the drive, McIntosh exited the vehicle, however, law enforcement officials have never said if he jumped or was pushed. McIntosh was later found lying on the ground in the 3000 block of U.S. 36 near Morton by a passerby who stopped along the road because of his own medical issue and subsequently called 911 to report the severely injured man. An autopsy later revealed that McIntosh sustained a skull fracture and that injuries were consistent with falling out of a vehicle.

Court documents state Northington had a legal obligation as the driver to stop and report the accident, which she did not do.

Documents show Northington was charged with a Level 4 felony count of leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death. Boles, on the other hand, was charged with assisting a criminal with intent to hinder apprehension or punishment, which is a Level 6 felony.

Boles is set to return to court Monday, March 9 to learn whether or not her plea deal will be accepted by the court, while Northington will be back in court on Wednesday, March 18.
