Wednesday, Congressman Rudy Yakym (IN-02) released a statement after voting in favor of reversing two burdensome Biden-era rules from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and Department of Energy (DOE):
"The Biden administration took pride in imposing absurd, out-of-touch regulations—from rubber tires to gas stoves," Rep. Yakym said. "The EPA and DOE's restrictions burdened Indiana's small businesses, killing jobs, raising costs, and stifling innovation. I'm proud to have voted to repeal these job-killing rules and restore common sense."
Background:
H.J. Res. 61- Rubber Tire Manufacturing CRA – This EPA rule imposed strict requirements, including limits on emissions from rubber manufacturers and mandated onerous reporting requirements and record keeping for compliance.
H.J. Res. 42 – Energy Conservation Standards CRA – This DOE rule established certification requirements for manufacturers, including regulations on product testing and compliance with unrealistic conservation standards.
