City Police arrest Knox man for OWI on a controlled substance

A Knox man was arrested following a traffic stop by Plymouth Police on April 1^st.

Officer Witkowski with the Plymouth Police Department stopped a vehicle traveling south on North Michigan Street and found the driver, 38-year-old Zachary J. Hunter, to be operating while under the influence of a narcotic. Suspected marijuana was also found inside the vehicle.

Hunter was arrested, transported to the Marshall County Jail, and booked in for OWI on a controlled substance. His cash bond of $1,500 was paid just before midnight and Hunter was released on bond.

Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is a mere allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury, at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made
