On Monday evening, the Plymouth Board of Public Works and Safety approved a street closure request from Plymouth Fire Chief Steve Holm. The request will allow the department to close Center Street on Saturday, October 12th, for an open house event as part of National Fire Prevention and Safety Week.
The open house will be from 9 a.m. to noon. Participants will enjoy a pancake breakfast for a freewill donation of any amount. The community is invited to tour the fire department, and the fire trucks will be parked out on Center Street for up-close viewing. Those attending can also pick up educational literature on carbon monoxide detectors, smoke detectors, fire extinguishers, and home exit drills.
Center Street will be closed between LaPorte and Garro Streets from 8:30 a.m. to 12:20 p.m.
