Cass County Community Foundation grants to fund driving range

The Cass County Community Foundation is excited to announce a grant from the Daniel C. Anderson Fund of $200,000 to build the “Mike Anderson Driving Range” at Dykeman Park Golf Course.

The project is part of the vision for expanding the offerings at the course and will allow members and the public alike the opportunity to utilize the range.

The  range will be built on ten acres of land recently acquired by the course near the fourth hole and feature a kiosk that does not require an onsite attendant. The range will be open to the public during the golf course’s regular hours.

Brad Rozzi, committee member of the Dykeman Park Project Renovations shared, “The gift could not be more appropriate. It is a perfect fit as it memorializes Mike's charitable character and at the same time, amounts to a long-term investment in a place that brought him much joy. We cannot thank Daniel and the Anderson family enough for this gift.”

Mike Anderson who passed away on September 1, 2019, was a great champion for the community and left a legacy through the Cass County Community Foundation to continue his philanthropy and improve lives through two funds established with his trust, the Daniel C Anderson Donor Advised Fund, and the Kathryn Anderson Props Donor Advised Fund. The funds allow both Daniel and Katy to make periodic recommendations to the CCCF Board of Directors for support of projects and charities.

Those who knew Mike remember his love of golf and that he was either a sponsor or played in almost every charity outing at Dykeman. Daniel’s gift in his memory is one for the entire community cherish.”

“This gift through the  Daniel C. Anderson Fund in memory of his father, Mike Anderson is something that the entire community will enjoy,” said Jan Fawley, Parks Administrator. “Plans are to begin construction as soon as the weather permits.”
