The Environmental Climate Justice Committee of the Greater Terre Haute NAACP Branch #3068 will present a two-part program of essential information on carbon sequestration, the proposed CCS pilot project in Vigo and Vermillion counties, and its impact on the community.
A panel of experts and activists will speak on Monday, July 21, and on Monday, August 18, in person in the Vigo County Public Library Room A in the basement starting at 6:00 pm, and in a hybrid format. Virtual Participants may connect with the Zoom Videoconference Link.

The first part program will focus on the science, the process, and the risks of carbon capture and storage, as well as how CCS will impact our community. The panelists will address what is involved, what the community needs to know, and concerns of the people who will be directly impacted. The second portion of this educational and topical subject will focus on strategies, tactics and actions.
The panel includes Denise Abdul-Rahman, an internationally recognized expert in environmental and climate justice issues, and Susan Strole-Kos and Whitney Kos, authoritative local community advocates and activists.
