An Indiana State Police Trooper stopped a Freightliner semi tractor-trailer on I-70 at the 41 mile-marker eastbound, for a routine DOT compliance inspection.
During conversations with the driver, criminal indicators were observed and a probable cause search was conducted. The trooper found 100 pounds of methamphetamine in the trailer along with a handgun in the cab of the truck.
The driver, Kemar Brown, 33, of San Bernardino, California, was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Putnam County Jail.
The estimated street value of the methamphetamine is half a million dollars.
Brown is charged with Dealing Methamphetamine, Level 2 Felony, and Possession of Methamphetamine, Level 3 Felony.
