The search will soon be on to replace a member of the Bridgeport Police Department.
The City Council Tuesday night moved to accept the resignation of patrolman Austin Biehl, effective on October 21st of 2025. Biehl is leaving to accept a position on the Lawrenceville Police Department.
The city is currently taking applications for the vacancy. Anyone wishing to apply can do so by stopping by the Bridgeport City Hall during regular business hours Monday through Friday or drop off their applications during those times.
Mayor Tyler Griffin told GIANT-FM News that the city is going to send out information to various law enforcement publications and websites indicating they have a position open. There was also discussion of creating a hiring bonus or some other incentive to entice applicants to stay on the police force once they are hired. No firm timetable has been set to replace Biehl.
