The city of Bridgeport has received good news regarding its water tower, but bad news regarding the city water meters.
Mayor Tyler Griffin reported to GIANT-FM WAKO News that the water tower was recently inspected and the report back to the city was that it is in good shape. Next up for the tower is a thorough cleaning and painting in the early part of 2027.
There continues to be problems regarding the ability to read the city's residential water customer meters by city workers. The problem has been persistent and City Superintendent David Miller will again contact the representatives of the meter company to try and get the situation alleviated. The city is contemplating a change if things are not resolved.
Griffin also said that they will continue to keep seeking grant funding for some necessary waterline replacement projects in the future.
