The Indiana Department of Transportation announces a temporary bridge closure on State Road 341 just north of Newtown in Fountain County.
Beginning on or after Monday, Sept. 16, crews were closing the S.R. 341 bridge over the Big Shawnee Creek, located near Green Bay Road. This is located about one and a half miles south of S.R. 28.
During the closure, crews will be doing preventative maintenance on the bridge. The closure is expected to last until late November but is weather permitting and subject to change. The official detour heading northbound is S.R. 55 east to S.R. 25 north to S.R. 28 W. Heading southbound, the official detour is S.R. 28 east to S.R. 25 south to S.R. 55 west.
