A Shelbyville Police Department detective was put on administrative leave pending a review hearing.
Shelbyville Police Chief Bill Dwenger appeared before the Shelbyville Board of Works and Public Safety Tuesday morning at City Hall with a request to move Kyra Peoples from the Investigation division to Patrol division.
The Board of Works approved that request and the request from Dwenger to put Peoples on paid administrative leave until a review hearing can take place.
No other details of the hearing were released by the Shelbyville Police Department.
In other business, the Board of Works approved road closure requests from Mainstreet Shelbyville Inc. for its “Sip On The Square” event on June 20 in downtown Shelbyville.
The Public Square will be closed to traffic at noon to allow for set up. Various side streets around the Public Square also will be closed on June 20 for the event, which offers opportunities to sample wines from nine Indiana wineries from 6 to 9 p.m.
A concert featuring Gone 2 Paradise – The Ultimate Jimmy Buffett Experience will follow from 9 to 11 p.m.
