Hoosier Racing Tire, located at 2307 PIDCO Drive in Plymouth, received approval to install two pedestrian crossing signs with flashing warning lights, along with two sets of street crossing lines painted on PIDCO Drive during the Plymouth Board of Public Works and Safety meeting.
Lissandro Jimenez appeared before the Board of Public Works Monday evening and said the employee parking lot is across the street from the manufacturing facility. He said they are working three shifts, so employees are crossing the street in the dark, and since it is on a curve in the industrial park and semi traffic, they wanted to provide safe crossing for the Hoosier Tire employees.
Hoosier Tire will purchase and install the lights and painting with the assistance of the Plymouth Street Superintendent, Jim Marquardt.
The Board of Public Works and Safety also approved the request from Curt Feece, representing the St. Michael Parish, to block Center Street at Monroe and Madison Steets on Saturday, April 19th from 8 to 11 p.m. for their Easter vigil service that starts with a portable fire pit and the lighting of the Easter candle.
The request indicated that they have been doing so for the last four or five years.
The board unanimously approved the request.
