Firefighters were dispatched to West Green Street.
Firefighters from the Greencastle Fire Department, as well as neighboring departments responded to a structure fire Friday morning.
According to GFD Chief Rob Frank, firefighters were dispatched to West Green Street and upon arrival they noticed a heavy fire on the porch of a residence. The fire was knocked down and there were no victims. However, one firefighter was checked at the scene and released.
"The fire was contained to one room and the attic," Frank told GIANT fm.
The fire caused a brief closure of Green Street.
GFD was assisted by Cloverdale Fire, Fillmore Fire, Bainbridge Fire, Reelsville Fire, PCEMS, and Greencastle Police.
