Two adults and three juveniles were hospitalized in Logansport on Sunday afternoon after being electrocuted while swimming in a pool.
According to police reports, the incident happened just after 2:30 p.m. Aug. 25 in the 2600 block of High Street. Officials with the Logansport Police Department say it was a ''freak accident,'' and reported that they found no signs of criminal activity during investigation.
It was found that the incident stemmed from a wire from a pool pump that had been pinched, leading to its protective cover being broken. The five swimmers were in the pool when the exposed wire hit the pool water, shocking them.
All of the juveniles were under the age of 16, and two of the children were eventually transferred to another hospital for further treatment. LPD confirmed that the accident did not lead to any fatalities.
