Emergency responders were dispatched Friday at about 6:30 p.m. to a single-vehicle crash on Elm Road, north of U.S. 6.
The Marshall County Central Dispatch Center received a call regarding a collision with a pole on Elm Road Friday evening. The caller told the Dispatch Center there was a male driver who was injured and bleeding from his head.
Seventy-year-old Chris Blume, of Mishawaka, was driving a 2007 Mazda Miata and failed to navigate the curve, lost control, and struck a utility pole.
Blume and his passenger were transported to Bremen Hospital to be evaluated for injuries.
The Marshall County Sheriff's Department was assisted on the scene by Bremen Police, Fire, and EMS, as well as Newcomer's Tow Service of Nappanee.
