Triton Central runs away from Scecina to secure first win for new coach

Henry Kemper scored three touchdowns to lead Triton Central to a 30-3 win over Indianapolis Scecina Friday in Fairland.

Kemper rushed for two short touchdowns and caught a touchdown as part of a 7-reception, 90-yard performance that netted the Tigers (1-1) their first win of the season.

The victory also was the first for head coach Tim Kegley.

The Crusaders led 3-0 after one quarter before Triton Central started building momentum.

Landon Ball racked up a career-high 146 yards rushing and scored his team’s first touchdown in the second quarter. The Tigers never trailed again.

 

 

Payton McKillop (photo) recorded a safety to extend the lad to 9-3 and Kemper scored his first touchdown on a 3-yard run to make it 16-3 at halftime.

Kemper hauled in an 18-yard touchdown reception in the third quarter to push the lead to 23-3.

 

 

Kemper (photo) added a second 3-yard scoring run in the fourth quarter to complete the scoring.

Quarterback Matthew Wilkins completed 12 of 24 pass attempts for 210 yards. Dylan Showalter had a 4-catch night for 87 yards.

Triton Central opens its Hoosier Legends Conference schedule in week three at Speedway (2-0).
