Rochester plated a seventh inning run to tie the game in the top of the seventh but Rossville escaped with a run of its own Friday in the bottom of the inning for a 4-3 baseball win.
Junior Parker Casper took the loss working in relief of starter Carson Paulik who went six innings giving up three runs, five hits, striking out six while walking four. Casper was able to get one out in the bottom of the seventh before Rossville pushed across the game-winning run.
Offensively, Casper drove in a pair of runs with a 2-for-4 day at the plate.
Brady Coleman was also 2-for-4 with an RBI.
Rossville took the lead with single runs in the third and fourth. Rochester tied the game at 2-2 with a pair of runs in the fifth.
Rossville edged ahead 3-2 with a sixth inning run ahead of Rochester’s tying run in the seventh and Rossville’s walk-off game winning run.
The Zebras left eight men on base. Rossville held on despite three errors in the field.
