With a 4-1 win over Hauser, Waldron girls tennis clinched the Mid-Hoosier Conference title and improved to 7-1 this season.
Waldron got singles victories from Riley Thurston (6-4, 6-2 at No. 1 singles) and Ava Leising (6-2, 6-3 at No. 2 singles).
At No. 1 doubles, Waldron’s Emerson Lindsey and Jackie Corlett defeated Abby Manley and Kaycee Ridgly, 6-0, 6-0.
Madeline Walker and Hannah Rouse won in straight sets at No. 2 doubles, 6-3, 6-2.
Hauser’s only win came at No. 3 singles where June Berkenstock bested Waldron’s Malia Murphy, 6-4, 6-2.

Shelbyville’s Shia Veach competed in the Carmel Distance Showcase Friday and posted a personal best time in the 3,200 meters.
Veach finished sixth in his heat in 9:38.06, breaking his personal best time by 10 seconds.
