With a trio of dominant performances in the singles matches, Triton Central claimed a 3-2 win over Indian Creek to clinch the inaugural Hoosier Legends Conference championship for the Tigers.
At No. 1 singles, Maryrose Felling defeated Reese Tunell, 6-2, 6-1.
Anniston Evans lost just one game at No. 2 singles against Gracie Werden, 6-1, 6-0.
Zhibek Zhumaly bested Raegan Weddle, 6-1, 6-3 at No. 3 singles.
At No. 1 doubles, Indian Creek’s Lilly Swanson and Lexi Sichting topped Kate Collier and Neve Kahler, 6-4, 6-2.
Eliza Thorpe and Rhiannon Cravens needed three sets to defeat Estelle Gearlds and Cadence Roberts at No. 2 doubles, 6-4, 2-6, 6-4.
Triton Central improved to 16-2 this season and 4-0 against HLC opponents.

Shelbyville 4, New Castle 2
At Shelbyville, a three-run third inning was enough run support for Aiden Smith to get the Golden Bears a sweep of the Hoosier Heritage Conference series.
Smith pitched six innings and allowed four hits and three walks while striking out 12 to improve to 6-0 this season for Shelbyville (15-3, 10-2 HHC).
Austin Martzall pitched a scoreless seventh inning to get the save.
Kellen Linville had a double and drove in two runs. Martzall and Adair Zermeno also drove in runs for the Golden Bears.
The win Wednesday clinched at least a share of the HHC title. The Golden Bears now have a two-game lead on Greenfield-Central and Pendleton Heights with one conference series left on the schedule.
Shelbyville is at Greenfield-Central (14-9, 8-4 HHC) Tuesday before hosting the Cougars one day later at Barnett Field.
Rushville 10, Triton Central 8
At Triton Central, the Lions scored three runs in the sixth to take the lead and added an insurance run in the seventh to secure the victory.
Grant Cameron had three hits, including a double, and drove in three runs. Carter Woolf had two RBIs.
Casey Thompson earned the win as one of four pitchers used by Rushville (8-11).
Brayden Hoover had three hits, including a double, scored two runs and drove in two for Triton Central (6-12).
Brody Hartman took the loss, pitching five innings and allowing eight runs.
Triton Central hosts Indianapolis Scecina (7-11) today.

Shelbyville 188, Columbus East 192
At Blue Bear Golf Club, Logan Reinhart posted the low score for Shelbyville with a 41. He was the medalist for the dual match.
Completing the Golden Bears’ scorecard were Ethan Hughes (48), Carter Dunagan (49) and Lane Haehl (50).
Girls tennis
Waldron 4, Morristown 1
At Waldron, the Mohawks advanced to the championship match of the Shelby County Tournament with a semifinal win over Morristown.
At No. 1 singles, Riley Thurston defeated Katie Theobald, 6-1, 6-0.
Ava Leising won a long first set at No. 2 singles against Addie Osborne then prevailed, 7-6 (3), 6-2.
Waldron’s No. 1 doubles pairing of Emerson Lindsey and Jackie Corlett improved to 15-0 this season with a 6-1, 6-0 win over Emma Waggoner and Emmy Bowyer.
At No. 2 doubles, Malia Murphy and Hannah Rouse upped their record to 3-0 this season for Waldron with a 6-1, 6-3 win over Remi Specklemire and Chloe Theobald.
Waldron (9-6) will face Triton Central (16-2) today in Fairland to determine the Shelby County Tournament champion.
