Three Hoosier Heritage Conference schools met for a triangular meet at McKeand Stadium in Shelbyville Thursday.
New Palestine edged Greenfield-Central, 69-63, to win the girls meet. Shelbyville finished third with 35 points.
Shelbyville’s Sonora O’Connor won the 100-meter hurdles in 16.7 seconds and the 300 hurdles in 47.89.
O’Connor teamed with Jordyn Noe, Alyna Castanon and Macey Robbins to win the 1,600 relay in 4:12.13.
Robbins bested the field in the 400 with a time of 1:01.04.
Wuraola Ogunmoyela was runner-up in the 200 (29.17).
Greenfield-Central reversed the outcome in the boys meet. The Cougars’ 66 points topped New Palestine (64) and Shelbyville (39.5).
Event winners for Shelbyville were Eli Davis (53.85 in 400), Shia Veach (9:53.68 in 3,200) and Braeden Smith (5-6 in high jump, 20-1.75 in long jump).
Shelbyville’s 1,600 relay team of Davis, Shane Owens, Alex Wells and Kamden Turner won the event in 3:35.18.
Joaquin Delgado was runner-up in the 110 hurdles (16.12) while Owens finished second in the high jump (5-6).

Baseball
Waldron 12, Mooresville Christian 11
At Waldron, the two teams combined to score 13 runs in the sixth inning before the game was called due to darkness.
Connor Ping’s only hit of the game drove in the game-winning run in the sixth inning. Hunter Dodson and Nathan Stocklin each had two hits. Dodson drove in three runs.
Jacob Schlichting had two hits and scored three runs for Mooresville Christian (0-2).
Waldron (2-1) is at South Ripley (2-0) today.
North Decatur 11, Morristown 1
At North Decatur, Tyler Dean had three hits, including a home run, and drove in four to lead the Chargers to the Mid-Hoosier Conference victory.
Dean and Wyatt Reisman each scored three runs to improve North Decatur to 2-1 this season.
Matthew Field limited Morristown (1-3) to one hit and struck out nine over five innings on the mound.
The Chargers and Yellow Jackets complete their two-game conference series today in Morristown.
Boys golf
Mt. Vernon 180, Shelbyville 183
At Blue Bear Golf Course in Shelbyville, three Golden Bear golfers posted sub-50 scores but it was not enough to overcome the Marauders in their season-opening match.
Logan Tobian carded the low round of 40 to earn the medalist honor for Shelbyville. Logan Reinhart (43), Carter Dunagan (49) and Ethan Hughes (51) completed the Golden Bears’ scorecard.
Mt. Vernon was led by Nolan Knight’s 41 and Hayden McLaughlin’s 43.
Shelbyville is at the Yorktown Invitational Saturday.
Greenwood 176, Triton Central 193
At Valle Vista Golf Course in Greenwood, Braden Chase and Kalen Rowland each shot 40 to earn the co-medalist honor and lead the Woodmen past the Tigers.
Hayden Beaver led Triton Central with a 45. Colton Ayres followed at 46 and Max Crouse shot 48. Corbin Beaver completed the Triton Central scorecard with a 54.
Softball
North Decatur 13, Morristown 4
At North Decatur, the host Chargers scored six runs in the second and sixth innings to secure the conference win.
Carmen Thackery had three hits and scored three runs to lead North Decatur (2-1). Madison Rohls had two triples and drove in five runs.
Sawyer Rogers took the loss for Morristown (2-2). She allowed 12 hits and 13 runs, only six were earned. She struck out nine.
The MHC series continues today at Morristown.
Waldron 24, Indianapolis Shortridge 0
At Shortridge, the visiting Mohawks used an 11-run second inning to cruise to their second victory of the season.
Kendall Berauer and Abby Crouch each had four hits for Waldron (2-0). Crouch had two home runs and seven RBIs.
Izzy Blanchard and Kailey Hinchman combined to no-hit Shortridge (1-3) and strike out 10 hitters.
Waldron is at Brown County (1-4) today.
Girls tennis
Southwestern 4, Indianapolis Shortridge 1
At Shortridge, the Spartans won both doubles matches and got singles victories from Saioa Villanueva (No. 2 singles) and Paige Riggs (No. 3 singles).
Callie Beck and Hayden Ramey won at No. 1 doubles. Claire Utley and Maci Murray earned the win at No. 2 doubles.
Boys track and field
South Decatur 61, Southwestern 50, Indy Genesis 43
At South Decatur, the Spartans produced three event winners.
Dusty Stevens held off teammate Kyle Beck to win the 400 meters in 56.5 seconds. Beck finished at 56.8.
Mitchell Clements had the best throw in the shot put at 39 feet, one inch.
Jackson Guy bested the field in the discus with a throw of 116-2.
Also for Southwestern, Landon Drake was runner-up in the long jump (18-5) and Jake Sandefur finished second in the 200 (24.2).
Girls track and field
Indy Genesis 73, South Decatur 53, Southwestern 9
At South Decatur, Southwestern’s best finish came from Ashlynn Wadsworth, who placed second in the shot put with a throw of 25-5.
Juliana May finished fourth in the long jump (10-10.5).
