The Lawrenceville Basketball Indians capped the 50th anniversary celebration of the 1974 Class 1A state championship team Friday night with a 54-37 win over the Casey-Westfield Warriors at Lawrenceville. The Tribe shook off the pesky Warriors in the fourth quarter to improve to 23-3 overall and 6-0 in the Little Illini Conference. Bryant Jenkins led the Indian scoring with a double-double of 19 points and 10 rebounds, Landon Sanders added 14 and Maddux Pargin 10. The Indian JV remained undefeated at 17-0 with a 49-38 win over Casey. Jayden Goff scored 16, Noah Wilson 13 and Jacek Mickiewicz 12 in that game. The Indians will next see action Tuesday when they host the Carmi-White County Bulldogs in a non-conference affair. It will be Senior Night.
