Sawyer Williams scored on runs of 51 and 5 yards to lead a solid ground attack and propel the visiting Eastland Pearl City Wildcats to a 50-0 win Saturday over the Lawrenceville football Indians in the home opener at Ed Loeb Field at Lawrenceville.

The Wildcats ran for 6 touchdowns on the day and added a safety to run their record to 2-0 on the young season. They led 16-0 after one quarter, 32-0 at the half, and 42-0 after the third quarter.

The Indians, meanwhile, were shut down offensively by the Wildcat defense, which also picked off two Indian passes enroute to the shutout win.

Lawrenceville with the loss drops to 0-2 and will next see action on Friday, September 4th when they travel to Richland County High School in Olney to open Little Illini Conference (LIC) play against the defending league champion Tigers.
