Collegiate Update: Faust scores career-high 24 points for Marian in win over Grace College

Olivia Faust scored a career-high 24 points Wednesday in Marian’s 113-66 win over Grace College.

The Triton Central graduate (photo, left) also had six rebounds and one assist to push the No. 5 Knights to 16-0 (6-0 Crossroads League).

On Saturday, Marian suffered its first loss of the season, 56-46, to No. 7 ranked University of St. Francis (Ind.). Faust finished with 12 points and seven rebounds in the loss.

Here is a look at other Shelby County graduates competing at the collegiate level.

Brooklyn Bailey

The Triton Central graduate had six points, nine rebounds, three assists and two steals Wednesday in Kaskaskia College’s 71-63 loss at Danville Area Community College.

Kaskaskia is 5-10 this season.

Tenleigh Phelps

The Triton Central graduate finished with 15 points and 10 rebounds Saturday to help IU South Bend deal the University of St. Francis (Ill.) its first loss of the season, 69-62.

The Titans improved to 11-5 while St. Francis, ranked No. 16, fell to 16-1.

On Wednesday, Phelps had nine points, six rebounds and two assists in IU South Bend’s 78-72 win at Viterbo University (Wisc.).

Bella Larrison

The Waldron graduate helped Anderson overcome a 19-point second-half deficit Saturday to defeat Mount St. Joseph, 61-58, in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Larrison posted 17 points, 11 rebounds, one assist, one steal and one block to improve the Ravens to 7-7.

On Wednesday, Larrison finished with 16 points, 10 rebounds, two assists, four steals and one block in Anderson’s 73-64 loss at Bluffton (Ohio).

Emma Nelson

The Morristown graduate had five rebounds, one assist and two blocks Saturday in Marian Ancilla’s 50-44 win over Southwestern Michigan in Dowagiac, Michigan.

The win improved the Chargers to 7-6.

On Jan. 6, Marian Ancilla routed Community Christian (Mich.), 100-35. Nelson had six points, eight rebounds, four assists and two blocks.

Hadyn Ball

The Triton Central graduate competed in three of five matches for Wabash at the National Wrestling Coaches Association National Duals Friday and Saturday in Cedar Falls, Iowa.

Wabash defeated Cornell College (23-16) and Millikin University (23-14) and lost to No. 2 Augsburg College (34-15), No. 10 Coe College (27-13) and No. 10 Luther College (34-14).

Ball, competing at 190 pounds, lost to Augsburg’s Ethan Winkelman (2:16), Millikin’s Mateo Casillas (9-1) and Luther’s Ben Strehlow (4:04).
