Collegiate Update: Everette, IU Indy collects four wins at IU Natatorium

Riley Everette produced a top seven finish and helped two IU Indy relay teams to top five performances that led to four dual wins Saturday at the IU Natatorium in downtown Indianapolis.

The swimming and diving meet was broken into five dual contests.

The Jaguars defeated Xavier (196-94), Bellarmine (226-66), Eastern Illinois (226-67) and Butler (182.5-110.5). The only loss came to Bowling Green (200-99).

Everette, a Shelbyville graduate, finished seventh in the 100 butterfly in 59.47.

The freshman helped the 200 medley relay team to a fourth-place finish in 1:46.8. And she was part of IU Indy’s fifth place finishing team in the 200 freestyle relay in 1:39.12.

Here is a look at other Shelby County graduates competing at the collegiate level.

Axel Conover

The Shelbyville graduate had two tackles and a pass breakup Saturday for Hanover College in a 40-38 victory over Mount St. Joseph.

The win improved the Panthers to 3-1 this season and 1-0 in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference.

Brayden Wilkins

The Triton Central graduate had two rushes for five yards and three receptions for 67 yards Saturday in Franklin College’s 42-34 loss at Rose Hulman.

The Grizzlies dropped to 1-3 this season and 0-1 against HCAC opponents.

Oliver Gearlds

The Triton Central graduate tied for 24th place overall for IU Kokomo at the River States Conference Men’s Fall Preview event held at The Resort at Glade Springs in Daniels, West Virginia.

IU Kokomo finished eighth in the event.

Gearlds shot 81 (+9) on Sept. 28 and followed that with a 76 (+4) on Sept. 29 for a two-day score of 157 on the Par 72 golf course.
