Maryrose Felling and Quinn King combined to score 16 points in the fourth quarter Wednesday to net Class 2A, No. 8 Triton Central a 13th-straight victory.
Felling finished with a game-high 23 points on Senior Night in Triton Central’s 51-39 win over Covenant Christian.
The senior scored seven points in the opening quarter to get the Tigers (18-3) a 16-10 lead at the first break.
Triton Central’s defense limited the Warriors to just two points in the second quarter and seven in the third to open up a 30-19 advantage.
Isla Haffner and Gabby Nietz each hit a pair of three-pointers in the fourth quarter, but it was not enough to secure a comeback win in Fairland.
Emi Flatt led the Warriors (9-12) with 11 points. Abbey Jankowski finished with eight points.
King finished with 13 points for Triton Central.
The Tigers won the junior varsity game, 28-5. The two teams played just two quarters. Ryn West and Maddie Burnett led the Tigers with eight points apiece.
Triton Central will close out its regular season schedule tonight at Beech Grove (13-8). The winner of the game will earn a share of the inaugural Hoosier Legends Conference championship.
Class 2A, No. 12 Monrovia (18-5, 4-1 HLC) has already clinched a share of the title. Either the Tigers (3-1 HLC) or Hornets (3-1 HLC) will join the Bulldogs as co-champions.
